Bognor Regis 10k Road Race
- Sunday 20th May 2012
Paul and Kay Attwell will again be
running this race in aid of YEA.
The past few years The Rotary Club have added 50% to sponsorship raised,
which has been a great help to YEA finances over the summer months. Last
year the £510 we raised became £750! Help us to match that this
year!If you would like to give in this way
please give cash or a cheque (can be post-dated) to Kay Attwell by the
middle of July. Money is usually in the YEA account before the end of
August.
Can you see the pain?! |

Paul and Kay's Bognor 10k
2011
On Sunday 15th May Paul and Kay Attwell again
ran the Bognor 10k road race in aid of YEA.
Kay beat her personal best - 57mins 54 seconds - and Paul ran it in 48m
21 seconds.
Last year we sent the Rotary Club £205 we had raised and they sent us £310 back -
an added donation of 50%! This year we raised £506 and the Rotary Club
again added 50% taking the total to over £750 - this is a really efficient way to give,
so look out for it again next May!
Thanks for your support.

Harvest Supper 9th October
2010
|

|
|

|
The Harvest Supper held on Saturday 9th October 2010 to raise
funds for a replacement vehicle for YOUTHWORX-East Africa was once again
a great success in many ways. Our thanks go to Vicky for organising
it, Judy and Jackie for heading up the catering and their many helpers
who helped serve, wash up and clear away at the end of the evening. |
| Also thanks
to the 70+ people who came from near and far to enjoy a time of
fellowship together over a home-cooked meal made with the produce from
so many gardens, allotments and other donated items. The total raised
on the evening was £395.70 (almost £400!). |
 |
| The event
also gave the opportunity for additional donations totalling £1500 to be
given specifically for the vehicle. This means the whole event raised
almost £1900 – a great expression of encouragement and support for the
work of the YEA team in Uganda. The sale of the wrecked bus parts in
Uganda plus a little saving from the team over there totals about £1000
which means we now have £2900 towards the expected budget of £4600.
|
A
replacement vehicle is much needed to enable teams to fulfil their
ministry so if you felt you missed out on this opportunity to contribute
towards this, it’s not too late! We’d love to receive your gift by
cheque, online, or via JustGiving – you can Gift Aid too if you are a UK
tax payer. (See above) |

Paul and Kay's Bognor 10k
2010
On Sunday 16th May Paul and Kay Attwell ran the Bognor 10k road race in aid of YEA.
We sent the Rotary Club £205 we had raised and they sent us £310 back -
an added donation of 50%!
Paul ran in 48mins 49secs - a personal best. Kay
ran in 1 hour 32 seconds, a little slower than last year - a very windy
day again - will try to do better next year!! If you donate to YEA at
this time of the year, it is an efficient way to give. |

fun. Thanks to all who organised the
evening, provided craft to sell and braved the snowy conditions
to join us - we raised about £220 for the work of Youthworx-East
Africa. |

A New Vehicle for 2008!
Thanks very much to all of you who bought stars
or vouchers towards a new vehicle over the Christmas period. Including
gift-aid we can reclaim we raised over £300. Added to other gifts we had £1400
at the end of February. We were given
first-refusal on a Land rover discovery, which Silver's family shipped out and
were given all the funding needed to buy it. It is now on the road and
relieving the pressure on the 'bus'! Transport will always be an
on-going expense for the work of YEA and we would love to begin to have
monthly sponsors for vehicle costs. Talk to us if this is something
you'd like to help with. |
